Pingtel ( News - Alert) announced today the release of SIPxchange ECS version 3.8, an open source VoIP  solution. It represents an extension of Pingtel’s award winning plug-and-play management system, which permits customers to seamlessly manage SIP  components from a wide array of vendors.

The new release makes SIPxchange the leading open source-based enterprise VoIP communications solution. With enterprise class features and functionality, and easy-to-use administration and deployment tools, SIPxchange offers the benefits of open source-based systems, without sacrificing manageability and features enterprise customers have grown to rely on.
SIPxchange 3.8 delivers simplified deployment and industry leading ease-of-use. A new end-user portal adds a real-time call reporting phone directory, interactive voicemail management, and speed dial configuration, in addition to find-me/follow-me forwarding capabilities. SIPxchange 3.8 also adds plug-and-play management for AudioCodes media gateways and LG-Nortel ( News - Alert) SIP phones. Users can seamlessly manage and provision these devices from the SIPxchange browser-based management console, which already supports Snom, Polycom ( News - Alert), Grandstream and other phones.
