A Lexington, Kentucky-based company that delivers digital voice services to VoIP customers through cable operators today announced a new version of its flagship platform.
SinglePipe Communications ( News - Alert) officials say their “Integrated Provisioning System” marks a “strategic, significant” upgrade from its original platform.
The company’s vice president of business development, Kevin Breault, said SinglePipe’s aim in upgrading its platform was to make cable operators’ jobs easier.
“Without any exaggeration, I can confidently say that in addition to simplifying cable operators’ ability to offer Digital Voice, SIPS enhances the end-user experience and provides the means to deliver the high-level of service to which consumers are entitled,” Breault said. “Simply put, efficiency coupled with quality means happier, long-term customers.”
The new platform, whose acronym is “SIPS,” includes a services designed to help cable operators market, sell, provision, deploy, manage and bill digital voice services, according to the company.
SinglePipe officials say those services include account management, such as residential and business hosted VoIP and SIP trunking; order management, such as DIDs, toll-free numbers and local number probability; inventory management; E911 administration; and complete reporting and call detail records.
According to the company, SIPS integrates well with cable operators’ proprietary or other billing and provisioning platforms.
“For example, SIPs is currently integrated with Great Lakes Data Systems’ Service Provisioning Gateway ( News - Alert) for Voice interface to its WinCable billing system,” company officials say, “which has created an all-inclusive, integrated provisioning and billing solution currently used by SinglePipe Digital Voice customers.”
The platform also provides a so-called “account self-service portal” that’s designed to help subscribers manage their digital phone service, according to the company. Features that customers can tailor to their specific needs include E911 changes, anonymous call rejection and do not disturb, priority alerts, call forwarding, remote office, sequential and simultaneous ringing instructions and speed dial and voicemail management.
According to SinglePipe, the platform is now available to all cable operators in the United States.
“The company continues to develop additional features and improvements that will be rolled out in future SIPS upgrades,” company officials say. “All SinglePipe digital voice solutions offer the most advanced calling and phone control features customers want, as well as regulatory compliance, FCC ( News - Alert)-compliant 911, local number portability , complete back office integration and Tier 2/3 support.”
