MediaRing Limited, a VoIP service provider, recently announced the introduction of its new MediaRing MobileVoIP.
Along with offering free unlimited mobile calls amongst its users when connected to the Internet through a WiFi network, this service charges low rates when calling any fixed-line or mobile contacts not enrolled with the service or connected to Internet.
The service leverages MediaRing’s Global IP Network, and delivers “maximum usability and cost saving without compromising on mobility and voice quality,” said officials.
MediaRing MobileVoIP is available on SIP-enabled phones with WiFi ( News - Alert) capability, and it allows users to retain their existing mobile phone number, which eliminates the need for special access codes.
“These days mobility is a must, and as always users want the best value for their money and with the least amount of hassle. We kept this very important requirement in mind when developing MediaRing MobileVoIP,” said Kaushik Patel, vice president of global marketing at MediaRing.
He also said that the user experience when making a call is unchanged – the service does not require users to change their calling habits, one needs to just select the number from the mobile phonebook and call.
Patel explained that the service is not bound to any mobile operator and Mobile VoIP calls are made via MediaRing’s Global IP network, therefore bypassing the traditional mobile network.
“With MediaRing MobileVoIP, our users can enjoy rates starting from as low as $0.02 per minute for international calls. In addition, when they travel overseas, the service helps do away with costly roaming charges,” said Patel.
MediaRing also announced that the new MediaRing MobileVoIP will be available on the Nokia’s ( News - Alert) E-series smartphone family of handsets, E66 and E71.
“These days mobility is a must, and as always users want the best value for their money and with the least amount of hassle. We kept this very important requirement in mind when developing MediaRing MobileVoIP,” said Patel.
