Movearoo Now Available to Ease the Moving Process

By Susan J. Campbell
TMCnet Contributing Editor

While moving can be inevitable for some, the stress and work involved can make the task overwhelming, especially when the move is to another city or state. One website aims to make the job a lot easier for the more than 20 million U.S. households expected to move this year.

A new program and Web site are being launched to reduce the stresses of moving for consumers throughout the nation. Both the program and the Web site tout the motto” “You move. We Jump.”

Starting today, movers across the country can plan their move step-by-step at www.movearoo.com. This free, interactive resource is designed to deliver real-time assistance to consumers, while easing the entire moving process.

A consumer simply enters a home address and Movearoo will help them with everything from identifying the right moving company to conveniently setting up home-related services, including phone, high-speed Internet, electricity, natural gas and more.

Movearoo was established by a consortium of leading communications companies, including AT&T, Qwest (News - Alert) and Verizon. It was developed and is managed by WhiteFence, an online comparison-shopping marketplace for residential home services.

By providing a one-stop-shop for those moving to another location, Movearoo is addressing a significant need in the market. A focus on driving brand recognition through key strategies will help to increase traffic to the site, increasing usage.

Movearoo is being positioned as one of the most convenient and efficient places online to comparison shop and order more than a dozen critical move and home-related services, all from one place.

Aside from comparison shopping for essential home-related services, such as voice, high-speed Internet and video services, Movearoo also enables movers to set up gas and electric service; change mailing address without a trip to the post office; request mover quotes and order moving supplies; find tips and manage the process using an interactive checklist; subscribe to newspapers delivery and other home services at a new address; and research and rent home appliances, furniture and more.

The creators behind Movearoo expect that future enhancements will include a realtor and apartment finder, cost of living data, local amenities, mortgage and insurance information, and other tools to assist with the transition from one home to another.

The possibilities are many, as well as the co-branding and other marketing options that can make this new site a viable option for more than just those needing to make a move.
