Vonage Expands VoIP Service in OntarioThanks to a recent VoIP
More than 750,000 Ontario residents across the Niagara Region and North of Toronto have now been added to Vonage Canada's coverage area. The 14 new communities newly added include Aurora, Campbellford, Fort Erie, Galt, King City, Maple, Milton, Newmarket, Niagara Falls, Oak Ridges, Peterborough, Port Colborne, Waterdown and Welland.
"We know many Canadians are annoyed with the current choices available for home phone service, said Vonage Canada's president Bill Rainey in a statement released this week. Vonage Canada provides consumers with a reliable and cost-effective alternative to high priced home phone service."
Vonage Canada made news last month when it was tapped by Courtyard Developments to install a VoIP-based telecom system in the company's new complex for seniors in Ottawa. According to the builder, Hyde Park will be Canada's first "high-tech retirement community." Internet telephony will be part of the community's high-tech features. Courtyard Developments will make this feature available in the homes thanks to a new partnership it announced with Vonage Canada.
Because of this partnership, Vonage Canada is now Hyde Park's exclusive telephone services provider. With Vonage Canada, the more than 300 retirees living in Hyde Park's "smart" high-tech homes would only have to plug their existing telephones into a wallet-sized phone adapter in order to make and receive phone calls.
