EATEL Rolls Out Integra5 Service Delivery Platform

EATEL, an ILEC that serves communities in southern Louisiana, has deployed the i5 Converged Service Delivery Platform from Integra5, and has also rolled out the company’s TV Caller ID through its i-Communicate application suite. The company is offering TV Caller ID and converged, cross-platform applications as part of its strategy to enhance its FiberEdge triple-play bundle of offerings.

The EATEL FiberEdge offering is the provider’s fiber-to-the-home network, launched last year to deliver fast Internet access, digital TV and digital telephone services to subscribers. The new TV Caller ID service displays the name and number of an incoming call on subscribers’ television sets before the phone rings.

The i5 service platform allows service providers to deliver converged communications and content to any IP device, like a TV or PC, using i5 or third-party applications. It offers a standards-based, distributed architecture as well as the processing power required for real-time delivery and management of signals and information between data, telephone, cable TV and cellular networks.

EATEL is also testing the Integra5 PC Caller ID application for possible deployment in the future. The application offers the same notifications of an incoming caller’s name and number to a subscriber’s PC screen as the TV Caller ID service, before the phone rings.

“The new service is free and automatically activated for any EATEL customer who subscribes to our FiberEdge TV Digital Edge package and any EATEL phone service with Caller ID," said Brad Supple, director of marketing and sales, EATEL. "This is another example of EATEL's FiberEdge products working together to provide innovative and lifestyle-enhancing features to our customers over a network with virtually no bandwidth limitations.”

“As one of the leading telecommunications companies in the Gulf South, EATEL provides another showcase account where i5 applications are blending the bundle into new services that drive ARPU and increase customer satisfaction,” said Meredith Flynn-Ripley, CEO, Integra5. “Only the i5 C-SDP and its pre-packaged i5 applications are field proven to deliver cross-platform services in less than a week over any network - copper, HFC or FTTH - and to any device, including both legacy and advanced set-top boxes.”
