Global IP Solutions Launches Software Development Kits for VoIP and video over IP
By Arvind Arora, TMCnet Contributor
Global IP Solutions (News - Alert) (GIPS), a company engaged in providing multimedia processing solutions, has announced that is has made its VoiceEngine and VideoEngine Software Development Kits (SDKs) available. These SDKs are aimed at application developers, IP PBX (News - Alert) manufacturers and service providers offering real-time voice and video, and provide enhanced flexibility apart from ensuring high-quality standards necessary for successful IP voice and video products.
The market for Unified Communications (News - Alert) is displaying consistent growth and companies are looking for more ways to capitalize on the benefits of call control, presence, voice and video solutions. With the help of VoiceEngine and VideoEngine SDKs by GIPS, the development of full-featured Unified Communications services with real-time voice and video capabilities is made possible, as these SDKs provide all of the components and multimedia processing technology needed by application developers.
Before this, developers had to go to various vendors and had to deploy different technologies together to build a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or video over IP application, hence the quality and interoperability issues used to occur. These SDKs combine all of the important IP communications components in one package providing a simple and integrated solution.
Krithi Rao, research analyst, Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert), said that maintaining reliability and quality continues to be the highest concern in the adoption of IP communications, and GIPS SDKs will enable developers and service providers to achieve that objective while making it possible for them to add new features and functionalities essential to remaining competitive.
Steve Rust, vice president, business development, GIPS, said that these SDKs present customers and partners with a great opportunity to reach broad new market segments.
Rust added that the products are functionally rich and truly demonstrate the investment GIPS has made in the voice and video processing technologies, hence the company is very excited to be able to provide its customers with the ability to easily build their own high-quality multimedia applications.
Both the SDKs have been designed keeping ease of use in mind, and their Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) are able to handle complex media processing and call control functions, so the SDKs become a necessary tool for both the seasoned and the newer application developers for VoIP or video over IP.
