Ifoneclast's Phonevite Brings VoIP Notifications to the Masses
By Rich Tehrani, CEO, Technology Marketing Corporation
Imagine taking the concept of bulk e-mailing and applying it to voice communications. That’s just what Ifoneclast had in mind when it developed Phonevite, a VoIP service that lets companies and organizations to mass distribute voice messages in an efficient and affordable manner. Phonevite has applications in many industries, including education, emergency services, event planning, and healthcare.
Infonclast will be exhibiting next month at ITEXPO (News - Alert) West 2008. I caught up with Infoneclast’s co-founder and CEO, John Nahm, to find out more about Phonevite and to get a fresh perspective on the VoIP services market.
RT: What has been Ifoneclast’s biggest achievement during 2008 so far?
JN: We launched a premium service, with billing intricacies, and developed Phonevite To Go, which allows users to communicate with their groups/teams instantly over the phone, anywhere at any time.
RT: What can we expect to see from Ifoneclast during the next 12 months?
JN: We will add more community and interactive-participatory features to our service, and we will shift our focus to corporate services in 2009.
RT: How do you see the communications market evolving?
JN: I think that eventually operators’ main offerings will have to switch from rated access/calling to unlimited access (both voice and data), bundled with value-added services. Operators that do the best job packaging unlimited access with value-added services will succeed.
JN: Google is pushing for net neutrality and open development environments, which is good for all of us (except the operators and “pipe” owners). However, we do know that Google wants to eventually be the “big brother” or “big daddy” dominating this space.
JN: Apple has jump-started another revolution on mobile application development. But, the company needs to be more open instead of becoming a gateway for these applications, no matter how benign it attempts to look.
RT: What mobile phone(s) do you use?
JN: Apple.
RT: What do you think the communications market might look like in five years?
JN: VoIP will no longer be a buzzword; it will be the standard for voice communications. PSTN will be labeled as “legacy.”
RT: What will attendees see in your booth at ITEXPO this September?
JN: They will see the latest innovation for using VoIP in one-to-many communications.
RT: What sorts of companies should come to your exhibit?
JN: Any company that wants to see how VoIP can be used for communications to groups and teams. Companies that want to integrate our technology with theirs, using our API.
RT: Why should customers choose your Ifoneclast’s solutions?
JN: We are one of the most popular one-to-many VoIP solutions available, and have received thumbs-up reviews from a variety tech reviewers (CNET, TechCrunch, etc.) and consumers alike. In addition, our technology is simple enough to make VoIP group calling another popular option when communicating with large groups, just as as email is today.
