VoIP's EnGenius Releases Two Wireless N Router and Universal RepeatersEnGenius Technologies (News - Alert) Inc. reportedly has released two Wireless N Router/Universal Repeaters, the “ESR-9750” and “ESR-9750G.”
EnGenius Technologies specializes in long-range telephone, data and VoIP Communications. Founded in 1999, the wireless EnGenius products are available through distributors, system integrators, interconnect and catalogs.
The ESR-9750 router has a built-in, 4-port, full-duplex 10/100 Fast Switch to connect wired-Ethernet devices, EnGenius officials say. The Router function allows the entire network to share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. The ESR-9750G (Gigabit) router provides a built-in 4-port, full-duplex 10/100/1000 Gigabit switch to connect wired-Ethernet devices. The switch power is optimized for up to 10 times faster data transfer than Fast Ethernet. This makes it ideal for power-users and multi-media applications. Both the ESR-9750 and ESR-9750G have a one-year warranty and are priced at $69 and $99, respectively.
According to Roger Chien, product manager of EnGenius, the company is excited to be able to provide an eco (News - Alert)-friendly wireless router/repeater for the consumer market, while delivering 6X faster throughput speeds and 3X more coverage compared to standard 11g devices.
EnGenius says it has been instrumental in pioneering the “Affordable Long-Range Wireless” category.
The EnGenius wireless N routers use “Green Ethernet Technology.”
Here’s how it works.
The routers monitor power demand on each port and activate its “Power Save” mode when there is little or no demand. If there is no demand from a wireless user’s device, then the routers activate the “Power Save” mode on the wireless side as well. Both devices support home networking with superior throughput, performance and wireless range.
Users are able to connect to wireless devices with the Wi-Fi Protected Set-up function. The Web browser-based configuration utility makes the set up simple. Both routers encode all wireless transmissions with WPA or 64/128-bit WEP encryption in order to protect data and privacy. The routers use a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and support VPN pass-through.
Some major features of the routers include: wireless Speed 6X Faster; extend 3X Wireless Coverage; detachable Multi-antenna Design; energy Efficiency through Green Ethernet Technology; unparalleled Wireless Coverage through Universal Repeater feature; quality of Service; and auto-Setup Wizard.
