Mobivox, a provider of innovative, voice-activated access to a host of Mobile VoIP services and applications, is helping California drivers with voice-to-text-service.

Motorists in the state are banned by the law to text message while driving and the defaulters may have to pay $20 as fine for a first offense and $50 for each subsequent offense.

A large number of U.S. jurisdictions have outlawed driving while texting, also known as DWT. According to the Governors Highway Safety Association, Alaska, Connecticut, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Jersey, Washington and the District of Columbia also ban texting by all drivers.

While drivers in California have already been prohibited from talking on a cell phone without a hands-free device, now they have banned to text with this new law.

Mobivox is helping these drivers through a simple, hands-free solution that allows them to send text messages while behind the wheel.
It is easy to initiate, manage and control voice-based communications with Mobivox services and can be used to call around the world from any phone. Users don’t have to use calling cards, PIN numbers or need software downloads to use this service.

According to Mobivox’s officials, their voice-activated mobile services enable users to record a short message and have it transcribed and delivered in minutes as a Short Message Service (SMS, or text) or e-mail message to a contact in the caller’s Mobivox Web-hosted address book.

These services are made possible by Mobivox’s patent-pending Mobivox|PL mobile-services platform, which offers a variety of features and flexibility to the customers. The services also include inbound and outbound mobile Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls in addition to group communications for social and business users and are available for callers who speak English, French or Spanish.

Mobivox is selling these services directly to consumers and making them available through partners, such as service providers and online communities.
