Pingo Prepaid VoIP Lowers Cost of Calling PhilippinesiBasis’ (News - Alert) VoIP-based prepaid calling card service Pingo (www.pingo.com) has lowered rates on international calls to Philippines. The new rates are 13.75 cents for landline phones and 14.5 cents for mobile phones.
Philippines is a strategic market for Pingo, sharing around four percent of all international calls from the U.S. and very dependent on prepaid calling services.
RateWatcher, one of the potent features of Pingo, is responsible for the drop in international calling card rates. It keenly compares costs of long-distance calls worldwide and recommends possible rate reduction, eliminating the burden of comparing several prepaid calling card offerings.
Earlier, Pingo lowered rates in other popular destinations like India, Asia, and Latin America based on RateWatcher.
Aside from their competitive rates, Pingo offers numerous features including automatic recharge, online account management, referral incentives, and choosing own number.
Pingo uses VoIP
Accessible in 35 countries such as U.S., Canada, Australia, China, Germany, Japan, France, UK, and Thailand, Pingo is supported by iBasis Networks, one of the ten largest carriers of international phone calls worldwide.
iBasis is one of the largest wholesale carriers of international long distance calls with 7.8 billion minutes of VoIP traffic in 2005. Founded in 1996, iBasis is also a leading supplier of prepaid calling services through Pingo and its disposable calling cards available in major retail stores nationwide.
