ICE Systems, in collaboration with GroundWork Open Source, Inc., recently announced that they had plans to deliver the GroundWork Monitor family of open source network and systems management solutions to enterprises that were located in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

 

Currently the APAC region represents a large and rapidly growing market for IT operations management software, growing close to 14.7 percent to $845.8 million USD in the year 2007 (excluding Japan). GroundWork Monitor is already being used within the APAC region by leading institutions such as National Australia Bank and University of Adelaide. This new partnership establishes ICE Systems as the first GroundWork Certified Reseller and Integrator dedicated to the countries of Australia, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Philippines, Singapore, Tahiti, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Vietnam.

 

Neil Smith who is the technical director at ICE Systems said that they had evaluated several vendors within the Open Source and Enterprise management market space and felt that GroundWork offered the most comprehensive solution for the Mid-tier and Enterprise environment within APAC region. One of the main reasons ICE Systems went with GroundWork was because they provided a highly stable and mature platform, backed with development and support for the product enables a powerful partnership to ICE’s client base.

 

The integration of GroundWork Monitor into the current portfolio that ICE Systems possess puts them in a unique position to offer the functionality that enterprises in the APAC region are currently demanding. The service being offered are attractively priced and comes along with the backing of a mission-critical provider of a broad of range of IT solutions, which offer enterprises that combination of savings and safety which is very critical these days.

 

Alan Cooke who is the GroundWork VP of Worldwide Field and Channel Operations said that "GroundWork experienced 100 percent growth in the EMEA (Europe-Middle East-Africa) market between 2007 and 2008, despite challenging economic conditions. Cooke went on to say that he believed that the APAC region represents a similar opportunity and was extremely happy to have an organization of ICE Systems' stature spearhead the effort along with GroundWork.
