Orange Placed in Leaders Quadrant for Asia/Pacific Network Service Providers

France Telecom’s (News - Alert) flagship brand Orange Business Services has reportedly found a place in the Leaders Quadrant in Gartner (News - Alert) Inc.’s Magic Quadrant for Asia/Pacific Network Service Providers.
The report gives “high marks to providers that exceed on overall service quality, based on a combination of high network reliability and performance, good service and support, and strong service-level commitments.” It also places “special emphasis on local service and support in developing and remote markets, which can improve installation and restoration times significantly.” It also considers providers “that can deliver superior connectivity to and within China and India, two key markets in Asia.”
“We are delighted to be positioned in the Leaders quadrant in Gartner’s Asia Pacific Magic Quadrant,” said Barbara Dalibard, president and CEO, Orange Business Services (News - Alert), in a release. “Asia Pacific continues to be a key market for us and we recently announced that we have enhanced our next-generation converged IP network in Asia Pacific to integrate innovations like Multicast, IPv6 and Telepresence (News - Alert) support.”
The Network Service Providers who were evaluated for the Magic Quadrant were adjudged on their “ability to execute” and “completeness of vision.”
The “Ability to Execute” is reflected by the following criteria: product/service, overall viability (business unit, financial, strategy, organization), sales execution/pricing, market responsiveness and track record, marketing execution, customer experience, and operations.
On the other hand, “Completeness of Vision” was adjudged on the basis of market understanding, marketing strategy, sales strategy, offering (product) strategy, business model, vertical/industry strategy, innovation and geographic strategy.
The Magic Quadrant is a graphical representation of a marketplace in which various vendors are positioned according to the criteria specified by Gartner. Intended solely as a research tool, the Magic Quadrant does not endorse any vendor.
Earlier this year, TMCnet had reported that Cable & Wireless (News - Alert) EAUS had been placed in the Leaders Quadrant of Gartner’s 2008 Magic Quadrant for Pan-European Network Service Providers.
One of the world’s leading telecommunications operators, Orange boasts a base of 123 million customers worldwide.
