The Shandong Virtualization Technology Promotion and Application Center was recently inaugurated in the high tech region of China’s Jinan Province amid much celebration.

 

This center has been developed by Jinan Yinquan Technology Co. Ltd (Yinquan), which is wholly owned by China VoIP and Digital Telecom Inc. The Chinese government had earmarked the center as the sole virtualization technology research, development and marketing unit in the country. The inaugural function was a star-studded affair. Attendees included several prominent members of the government and the President of Vmware (News - Alert) Inc. for Greater China.

 

The official nod for the center is a glowing testimony of the Shandong government’s commitment and complete support of the virtualization technology solution from Yinquan. The center will function as the epicenter of information technology endorsement and its practical usage in Shandong. It is expected to play a dominant role in popularizing virtualization technology in the Shandong region.

Over the past year, virtualization solutions have been robustly endorsed by the Shandong Province government. The center’s first set of patrons is expected to be a pilot group comprising some provincial and municipal departments, municipal information centers and around 20 other medium to large scale enterprises. The government appointed Yinquan as the sole company in Shandong Province, which can execute virtualization contracts.

 

 “The grand opening of Shandong Virtualization Technology Promotion and Application Center marked another step in the government’s strong support in promoting virtualization technology as part of our country’s Green IT concept,” Li Kunwu, chairman and CEO of China VoIP & Digital Telecom (News - Alert) Inc., said in a statement. “In addition, the center has underscored Yinquan’s leading position in virtualization technology in Shandong. We believe the virtualization market in China has enormous potential and China VoIP & Telecom Inc. is ready and capturing that growth.”

 

With virtualization technology, computers can run at any given point in time, multiple operating systems and multiple applications compared to the traditional x86 computer hardware, which could only support a single application on a single operating system. Virtualization greatly contributes in improving the overall utilization and dynamism of hardware. It has found acceptance in a broad spectrum of IT users, from IT professionals to commercial enterprises and government organizations.
