IPtimize, Inc., a broadband voice and data service provider, has acquired the assets and operating network of National Telecom & Broadband Services, a Florida corporation, including Teliphonex, their business-class VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) hosted PBX (News - Alert) solution.

Based in West Palm Beach, Florida, the commercial VoIP business assets acquired by IPtimize serve small business and enterprise customers in multiple metropolitan areas including West Palm Beach, Miami, Orlando and Tampa, Florida.

According to IPtimize officials, the acquisition is expected to add approximately 1,000 customer lines served by the company and adds both expanded geographic reach and an established commercial customer base to the growing VoIP business at IPtimize.

Officials said that IPtimize will be offering a complete suite of advanced commercial voice services to the acquired National Telecom customers. The transition is expected to be seamless for customers. Additional enhancements and features from IPtimize will be made available to customers in the future, officials added.

Back in April Level 3 Communications (News - Alert), Inc. had announced that it has established a reseller agreement with IPtimize, Inc. to expand their network service offering to local cable operators. The agreement enables IPtimize to offer wholesale voice, data and Internet services in rural communities targeted for broadband access.

IPtimize will access the Level 3 network at transmission sites along the 42,000 route miles that span North America. Access to the Level 3 network outside major metropolitan markets enables IPtimize to offer an expanded portfolio of network services to local cable operators.
