Positron Announces North American Reseller Agreement with Telephony Depot

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Positron Telecommunication Systems, a major player in VoIP equipment for enterprise communication, has signed a reseller agreement with Telephony Depot a North American retailer in the industry's online marketplace.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for Positron Telecom," said Richard McGravie, president of Positron Telecom, in a statement.

McGravie said the alliance provides the company with an online presence that leverages the growing popularity of VoIP and telephony hardware, and the software and services known to interoperate with Asterisk, the Open Source PBX (News - Alert).

According to Positron Telecom officials the Asterisk/VoIP market is rapidly growing and further increasing the demand for simplified, easy-to-install solutions. This trend is driven by companies who are required to lower their costs while increasing the functionality of their voice systems.

"We carry a wide range of products that are compatible with Asterisk (News - Alert)," said Paul Horos, product manager of Telephony Depot, in a statement.

Horos said that in this case, Positron's product is an Asterisk PBX on-a-card, which installs in a server as easily as an Ethernet card.

Telephony Depot launched in 2006 as an operating division of iFAX Solutions (News - Alert).
To cater to the growing popularity of VoIP and telephony hardware, and the software and services known to interoperate with Asterisk, the Depot was a logical expansion of the enterprise fax solutions provided by iFax.

Telephony Depot is recognized as a premier retailer in the industry's online marketplace, providing solutions for both business and personal needs, due in part to the pairing with only the finest manufacturers.

McGravie said that the distribution of Positron Telecom's products by Telephony Depot allows the company to provide superior solutions for both business and personal needs within the North American market.

Positron Telecommunications Systems Inc. develops and markets VoIP equipment for enterprise communication and collaboration through communication service providers.

The company's products integrate VoIP and traditional telephony in stand-alone systems that combine ease of use with powerful functionality. Its VoIP devices connect analog devices (telephone, fax and modem) to an IP-Network and gateways connect PSTN users to an IP Network or analog PBX, as well as key systems to an IP-Network.
