Albany International, a global advanced textiles and materials processing company, has signed a $7.5 million renewal agreement with Orange Business Services (News - Alert) for MPLS-based IP VPN and WAN optimization services.

Orange officials said that, along with the renewal, Albany International will expand its network within the Americas and Eurasia to encompass a total of 41 company sites in more than 18 countries.

“Orange Business Services has truly provided Albany International with a ‘world-class’ global network that achieves the required levels of functionality and performance for our business,” Andrew Jause, enterprise infrastructure manager for Albany International, said.

Additionally, Jause said that Orange has proven themselves over these many years to be a true partner in every sense of the word, solidifying the very successful relationship.

The network upgrade is part of Albany’s broader strategy to centralize services that support its entire global operations.

“Our network plays a key role in systems consolidation and leveraging global growth for Albany International,” Barry Duncan, vice president, information technology at Albany International, said.

Duncan said that Orange Business Services was the only provider with the portfolio breadth and global reach to move the company’s network to a larger international stage.

The company’s converged services were already delivering unparalleled opportunities for several of the company’s business lines, so it made perfect sense to stick with a sure thing and unleash these applications upon the greater network.

“The network upgrade will exponentially drive convergence through Albany’s enterprise infrastructure,” Diana Leonard, senior vice president of the Americas, Orange Business Services, said.

Leonard said that Albany’s enthusiasm for not only continuing, but also expanding, partnership is a testament to the capabilities and expertise of Orange.

In September, Orange Business Services, France Telecom (News - Alert) Group’s division for worldwide enterprise communications services, announced that it would offer ScanSafe’s (News - Alert) best-of-breed technology to its customers.
