Windstream Corp., a company that provides phone, high-speed Internet and high-definition digital TV services to customers in 16 states, has reportedly introduced a new managed router service for business customers.

 

The new service, which works on a ‘plug and play’ arrangement, helps customers to manage their Internet and data network systems with increased efficiency with optimal equipment performance.

 

According to the Little Rock, Ark.-based company, the new router service is a perfect combination to company’s next-generation data product such as Ethernet Internet, Dedicated Internet, VPN and VLS services.

Company officials said that they are ready to install, configure and maintain the router on a customer’s premises to offer convenience and simplicity of having both their data and equipment services managed by a single provider.

Windstream will also provide professional configuration, installation and maintenance, 24x7x365 customer support, and standard firewall functionality for built-in security measures to protect hardware from cyber threats and hackers for approved Windstream-provided routers.

 

The company is currently charging $54.99 per month for the managed router service. Equipment is priced separately.

 

The company has approximately 3 million access lines and about $3.1 billion in annual revenues. Windstream is ranked fourth in the “2009 BusinessWeek 50” ranking of the best-performing U.S. companies.
