JAJAH Offers Alternative for Skype UsersJAJAH, a web-calling service provider has rolled out a welcome mat to the millions of Skype (News - Alert) users who out of service following a technical snag.
In a press release JAJAH issued late Friday, the VOIP provider is set to cash in on the technical difficulties faced by Skype.
Interestingly, JAJAH has claimed that it is a fan of Skype, the company which revolutionized the telecom world with its innovative call service.
"We want to get the word out that Skype users have an easy access alternative that they can use," said Don Thorson JAJAH’s VP of Global Marketing. He continued, "As fans of Skype since day one, we are confident they will quickly resolve these issues. In the meantime, we are asking Skype users to give JAJAH a try. Since JAJAH is free to try out, there is absolutely nothing to lose." Though, relatively a new entrant into the VoIP JAJAH offers consumers to make free and low-cost telephone calls, dialing from either their computers or mobile phones. Making a JAJAH call is as simple as using Google (News - Alert) search engine. Users can simply visit www.jajah.com, enter their regular phone number, then the phone number they want to call, and press the "CALL" button. JAJAH does the rest and rings both parties on their actual phones (landline or mobile). JAJAH is similar to Skype, except that calls are initiated through the website or from your smart phone, and received on regular landline or mobile phones. To make JAJAH calls, it requires no downloads, no contract and no special equipment, not even headphones. But every user is required to register before making a call. Since the calls are made on regular phones, users don't need to be at their computers to talk, says JAJAH, explaining how difference in its service in comparison with Skype’s. "Skype users who try out JAJAH will be surprised at the call quality and dependability," said Thorson. "We've been making investments in our technology and infrastructure and it's had a dramatic effect on call quality.
