LiteScape Integrates WebEx, VoIP in Unified Communications Offer
By Niladri Sekhar Nath, TMCnet Contributor
LiteScape Technologies (News - Alert), Inc., has decided to make its LiteScape OnCast unified communications solution more resourceful by integrating WebEx's on-demand collaboration services with IP
telephony systems. LiteScape OnCast actually integrates WebEx Meeting Center with IP-PBXs and IP phones in particular.
Using OnCast, users will be able to seamlessly move between the interface and device of their choice to schedule, launch, and join WebEx collaboration sessions with one touch. They can schedule or join meetings instantly from their desktop, Microsoft (News - Alert) Outlook, or an IP phone as well. Once the time to join a meeting comes, user receives a broadcast message on their IP phone. OnCast automatically dials and validates a user with the appropriate audio conferencing bridge using their IP phone.
“Our customers are increasingly demanding UC applications that help them tightly integrate their communications systems with WebEx collaboration applications to optimize business processes and improve productivity,” says Stu Schmidt, Vice President, Solutions Group at WebEx. “By integrating enterprise IP telephony systems, corporate directories and other desktop applications with WebEx, OnCast greatly simplifies the overall process of collaboration, bringing increased value to our application and a compelling, productive experience for our customers.”
With LiteScape OnCast, organizations can securely integrate all of their business applications with their IP communications infrastructure. LiteScape OnCast is unique in the sense that it bridges the gap between corporate data, collaboration tools, desktop PCs, and IP phones to create a seamless communications experience.
OnCast is set to become quite popular thanks to its ability to integrate organizations' IP telephony systems with a range of critical business applications including Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Outlook/Exchange, IBM (News - Alert) Lotus Notes, Salesforce.com, and WebEx.
“The real promise of unified communications applications exists in their ability to increase user productivity in compelling ways that help users save time, communicate more intelligently, and collaborate more effectively,” says Farzad Naimi, CEO of LiteScape. “Our WebEx integration is an excellent example of this. LiteScape extends access to WebEx's powerful suite of collaboration applications; saving users time and — more importantly — helping them share information more efficiently.”
