Guardian Details Strategic Plan to Commercialize Groundbreaking PinPoint Product in New Investor Video
HERNDON, Va. --(Business Wire)-- Guardian Technologies International (OTCBB:GDTI), innovators of groundbreaking medical imaging and threat detection technology with critical and immediate applications for the healthcare and homeland security markets, today announced the availability of a new online investor video highlighting the Company's groundbreaking threat-detection PinPoint product targeting the multibillion dollar global Homeland Security market.
"The main culprit behind long and tedious lines at airport security checkpoints is the inability of current technology to quickly and definitively identify suspect materials from harmless products such as toothpaste and lotions or gels," said Steve Lancaster, Vice President of Guardian Technologies in the new video. "PinPoint(TM) delineates between these substances and delivers full image analysis of a threat in real time. And the technology can be run on a laptop with the existing infrastructure."
PinPoint enhances current-generation security x-ray scanners with the ability to autonomously determine the presence of contraband items of interest--such as explosives, weapons, currency or illegal drugs--rather than relying on human operator vigilance and interpretation.
"While augmenting airport scanners represents a major revenue opportunity for Guardian, the basis of our patent protected technology can be easily adapted to cargo and container scanning and for the detection of illicit drugs, as well as medical imaging applications," said Mr. Lancaster. "Whether hidden or in plain sight, the operator would receive an incontrovertible alert, thereby improving convenience, productivity and quickly defusing real or potential threats."
PinPoint is based on the same core technology, Signature Mapping, which has been targeted at the massive healthcare sector. Signature Mapping is an advanced analysis and visualization technology that can be seamlessly installed to read images from any medical imaging device (including MRIs, CT-scans and x-rays) to detect disease states in the brain, lungs, heart, prostate and can even visualize breast cancer in difficult to distinguish dense breast tissue.
Protected by a robust patent portfolio, Guardian's technology can be seamlessly added to existing imaging devices and significantly enhances images to quickly and accurately identify a myriad of threats, be they medical or terrorist related. Guardian is committed to aggressively marketing its first to market digital imaging solutions to both the healthcare and Homeland security sectors.

About Guardian Technologies International
The impact of Guardian's industry-first computer aided detection technologies are immediate and profound for helping to eliminate human error in both the Homeland Security and the Medical Industry sectors. The Company's software solutions can be seamlessly installed to complement existing imaging devices, such as baggage scanners and medical MRI, to scan the contents of any image and immediately identify items of interest not easily discernable by the human eye.
-- Airport Security: Guardian's technology complements and enhances current-generation baggage x-ray scanners with the ability to automatically and effectively detect, locate, and identify explosives and other types of threats.
-- Disease Identification: Existing medical imaging devices used in Computer Aided Detection (CAD) are further improved with Guardian's auto-diagnostic ability to detect anomalous tissue (e.g., tumors) and other potential disease states or conditions.
-- Technology-Independence: Because Guardian's technologies utilize and process the actual image output generated by the original imaging systems, virtually any existing or future imaging device can be upgraded with Guardian's products, delivering an instant, multibillion-dollar potential customer base with no competition.
Guardian's technology and product development partnerships include a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRDA) with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security - Science and Technology Directorate. The Company's platform and product suite is protected by a robust patent portfolio. They are also ramping up new technologies and plan to acquire complementary technologies to accelerate the Company's high-growth business model.
