Konica Minolta Launches PageScope Enterprise Suite for MFP Accounting

Konica Minolta ( News - Alert) Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc., a provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop, today introduced its “PageScope Enterprise Suite.”
Officials say the solutions help organizations authenticate and track users on any bizhub system within a corporation, and provide a custom user interface on all networked multifunctional products within the Konica Minolta next-generation series.
Konica Minolta claims that its new suite can adapt to a variety of networked environments, including integration with Active Directory. Unlike most authentication and accounting systems, this solution does not require additional hardware or software installation on individual machines, according to the company.
The solution comes with three modules – Account Manager, Authentication Manager and MyPanel Manager – all of which collaborate to enable tracking of all MFP activity on a per-page basis for each user without the need for custom setup or programming, according to the company. PageScope Enterprise Suite improves productivity and compliments standardized accounting practices across an organization, company officials say.
PageScope Account Manager enables per-page user-tracking to determine who did what, at which machine, and identifies when the activity occurred through an entire network of Konica Minolta MFPs to help manage document output, control costs, and allocate expenses accordingly, officials say.
The Account Manager module allows tracking of total print activity for industry-standard MIB compliant non-Konica Minolta networked printers as well as track print activity for locally attached printers. It can also protect information by storing data centrally – no counts or user data are stored at the MFP.
“With PageScope Enterprise Suite added to Konica Minolta’s award-winning line of bizhub MFPs, our customers will derive even greater value out of their investment in our products by upgrading the systems’ capabilities to include complete reporting and accounting practices,” said Kevin P. Kern, a vice president at Konica Minolta. “This advancement demonstrates the ease and flexibility in upgrading Konica Minolta systems without the difficulty of adding unnecessary enhancements to the existing infrastructure.”
