Computer hardware compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for the 2008-2013 period is forecast at about 7%, driven by sales of notebooks and netbooks.
AV Devices
AV devices accounted for around 38% of Argentinean consumer electronics spending in 2008. Argentina's domestic AV device market is projected at US$1.5bn this year. Sales of digital TV sets and digital cameras are projected to drive AV spending growth at a projected CAGR of 8.6% between 2009 and 2013.
Mobile Handsets
Mobile handset sales accounted for around 12% of Argentinean consumer electronics spending in 2008. Following a reverse in 2009, Argentinean market handset sales are expected to grow at a CAGR of 4% to US$477mn in 2013, as mobile subscriber penetration reaches 129%. Sales will be dominated by the replacement market, with growing demand for smartphones, PDAs and 3G handsets.
