RealLinx Launches VideoLinx, a Video Conferencing Service for SMBs

After creating some buzz around its all-new video conferencing product during September’s ITEXPO (News - Alert) West 2011, RealLinx is finally ready to put it in the hands of enterprise users.
A national provider of managed IP services, including hosted VoIP solutions, RealLinx (News - Alert) will launch VideoLinx, a hosted, multi-party video conferencing bridge geared toward SMBs, during 4Q 2011. VideoLinx is a sub-product of RealLinx’s VoiceLinx solution.
According to company officials, VideoLinx is a cost-effective and easy-to-use product for those SMBs seeking a high-quality, enterprise-grade solution. Since it is based on the Vidtel’s MeetMe service, it supports an array of devices from enterprise-grade video conferencing equipment, including Cisco (News
- Alert)/Tandberg, Polycom, LifeSize and Sony, to consumer-grade technologies, like Skype and GoogleTalk. Participants can then simply dial in as they would do with a standard audio conferencing bridge.
"Companies have become even more reliant on IP communications services, and their appetite for exploiting this capability beyond VoIP is just as great," said Gabriel Diaz (News - Alert), president of RealLinx, in a statement. "VideoLinx is an excellent response to the types of services we foresee as being core to the SMB market."
During ITEXPO West, which Diaz dubbed to be the company’s “debutant ball,” VideoLinx garnered “Best of Show” in the Best Onsite Product Launch category.
“We are not surprised that RealLinx won the award at ITEXPO for Best SMB Solution for the VoiceLinx Video Conferencing Service, based on Vidtel’s MeetMe service,” said Scott Wharton (News - Alert), CEO of Vidtel, back in September. “The market is now ready for a cost-effective, high-quality video conferencing solution for SME customers and RealLinx is set up to deliver it.”
